Designing a Brighter Future 🌱
I hope you and your loved ones continue to stay safe and healthy. I am writing with some uplifting news to brighten your day. Although we are unable to host regional Student Innovation Showcase events this spring, the EcoRise team has developed a plan to provide students who applied for grant funds with virtual opportunities to receive recognition and feedback on their innovation projects!
Over the next four weeks, we are hosting a series of virtual events, linking our network of STEM and sustainability professionals with students across the country.
Students have many super-powers. One of them is their unique ability to envision a positive future even in the face of adversity. Over the past month, we have seen countless grant applications from students roll in across the country and I am pleased to share that we are continuing to fund these projects. Each grant award provides a glimpse into a brighter future. Recent awards include:
- • Rainwater irrigation systems at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia, and at New Design High School in NYC’s Lower East Side.
- • Beautifying a public space to increase happiness and decrease litter at Palacios Elementary in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas.
- • Planting vegetable and pollinator gardens at Cornerstone Academy in Spring Branch, Texas
The generous support from folks like you, as well as our corporate, foundation, and public sector partners, make our continued programming possible. As we chart our path through this period of uncertainty, our intention is two-fold. First, we are doing everything possible to evolve our programming to meet the needs of this new reality. And secondly, we intend to continue serving all of our partner school districts, teachers, and students, both today and into the future.
Today I am asking for your support to help us deliver on this promise. I hope you will consider making a donation, of any amount, through this secure form:
Stay safe and well and thank you for your support of our work at EcoRise.
